Now that I've sprayed all the sand out.... (most military should know what I'm talking about) Figured I should repost a build thread. Started off with my bone stock little 1982 Toyota with a 22r and a weak tranny! After about 3 months of owning and daily driving the rig I had gone through 2 head gaskets and 1 tranny. Upgraded the tranny and came accross a deal that I couldn't pass up. A set of 4" All Pro Springs! Shortly after starting my aquisition of parts I deployed to Iraq for 14 months... During the deployment I kept purchasing parts and having my wife store them for me. While on leave I grabbed all of my parts and took them to Yakima and started a workin! The second half of my deployment brought some pretty big purchases to include a roll cage. A set of 30 spline Longfield Super axles. 5.29 gears and lockers front and rear. And random other parts. Coming back off of the deployment I started to work again on the truck. Mocked up a set of half doors for the rig(still haven't finished them yet!).. Rebuilt my front axle and got it reinstalled. Shortly after getting home I found out that a bunch of guys from here on the network had gone together and purchased me a set of Great Lakes Off Road DIY beadlocks. I can't thank you guys enough! Pat down at Those Guys welded them up for me! This pretty much brings me to where I sit today at this.

I didn't know you had a doubler in there. How did you like that? I gotta work on Joe some more for his Crawl box..

I love it! That was like the second purchase I made. Picked it up at one of the swap meets. Next up is 4.7 low gears for my rear case!
Kinda whoops my ass though. Still a severe novice at wheeling like this so its one more thing that I have to do. But hey you gotta learn somehow right?

All that hauling ups box after ups box up the stairs to our apartment did some good. Now its time to take your wifey for a ride. Or teach me how to drive the damn thing already!

Thanks guys. Haven't really gotten to do much to the truck in the last few months. Money and time keeping progress slow. This weekend I am going to break my wheels down and epoxy my tires to the rim .... Should solve my bead breaking issue. I'm getting the itch to get on the trail again... Starting to get antsey.

I'm glad to see your truck turned out the way you wanted. Once I get mine done we'll have to head out to Elbe. Maybe go down to Tillamook. And you're gonna have let Michelle drive it.

Have you built a transmission tunnel, or what happened with that?

Nice. Are you gonna leave it that way or is that just a temporary thing?

Yesterday I broke down all of my wheels and used DAP Polyurathane epoxy to seal up my inner beads.
Hopefully this fixes my bead problem.

Brian, you have no idea how bad I need to wheel.
I got bored today and aired down my tires and climbed up a tree... Got a couple feet up it and decided I better back down before I rolled in the driveway.
Would have been bad if I had rolled with my quad in the back huh?

I wish I had that nice of a quad. I snagged mine off my brother for pretty cheap.
What is everyone's thoughts on the 8274 on a lite truck like mine? I have access to one pretty cheap and am thinking of picking it up.

Oh its off of my oldest brother. He said he was going to keep it unless I wanted it. Probably won't pay more than 200 for it. As far as I know it works fine. Just been sitting for a while.
I need a winch bad and money is still kind of strapped but taxes are coming soon.. Guess there is a good thing about being deployed 6 months out of this year!
