Done yet? Pics?

yes and no. Shane and I knocked out pretty much all of it today. I'll have pics up in a few. But tomorrow or even tonight once Iget it in the garage, I need to make a switch for the lights. But I went with XClite's. These little bitches are bright.

I need to figure out a wheel well option yet. I dont want everything getting covered in mud.

Pics in a few I'm cleaning up so I can pull this sucker in. :releasedate:

OK here's a bunch of pics. Hardest part and most time consuming was trimming the hood. Man what a PITA

But the lights are pretty friggin bright. I took it for a drive down the street with just these lights on and I could see fine. I think I might look into getting some more to replace the headlights. I would eventually like to be all LED. You can leave these guys on all night and they barely put a drain on the battery.

The lights them self had to be modified to fit inside of 1.5" DOM. We cut the housing off and then gently ground them to size.

This is the new housing and how I incorporated them into the tube fenders.

And here's my build specs. I kinda winged it, but did take notes. :flipoff:

Looks good. I think people will catch onto your cool idea with the lights pretty quickly. And you could have possibly started a new trend with the non-bend fenders. Good work

Yep I think so too. They weren't really that hard to make. I just had a picture in my head and went with it. Both fenders are almost exact too. I would say 99% match.

My original plan was to make one side then copy the other side with it. But what I ended up doing was dong both sides, 1 piece at a time. All the same cuts and angles.

Those lights weren't spendy were they?

Looks like they might be in a dangerous spot and get crunched...

Not too spendy. But only time will tell. I dont think they'll get crunched, maybe in a roll over but I have another idea I'm going to work on that will protect them.

I am not trying to be negative towards your build at all, the only way you know if something is going to work is if you try it but what happens when you take your jeep to Elbe or Reiter and your in a real tight down hill off camber spot and you catch that overhang on a tree and yes there is a lot of spots like that and you cant back up and know your wedged in that spot? it just doesn’t seem to functional.

If ti does I'll cut the edge off. But I have to try it out first. It doesn't stick out as far as everyone thinks.

it'll either work or wont. If it doesn't I'll change it. It's a never ending project anyways. 2 cuts, 2 bolt's and they come off. Not too hard to fix.

Ok after some input and knowing that in the case of a rollover. The LED's would get destroy for sure. Some claim that a tree would hit them , but I personally don't think that would of happened. But whatever why waste the LED. So they got moved in and I cut the edge of the main line off.

Now I have a mobile missle launcher. :flipoff:

Tomorrow I have to cap off the ends. But here's a night shot with the LED's

Now I need to decide what to do with the hood. Paint it, vinyl wrap, or just leave it???

I would vote leave it. Why mess with something that functions just fine?

Well I finished up the wiring today. Here's the switch.

Image

I ended up re-doing a bunch of the wiring under the hood tonight. Took awhile but when I was done it was time to test out the lights. Now I have full control of the undercarriage lights , the LED's, and regular lights. Also the switch for my OBA is inside and not booty Fab'd to my grill support :flipoff:

Caped off the ends today, then flexed it out on the neighbors rocks. There is a bigger rock ledge on the other side of their property, but the people facing it drive a Volvo.. And well... You know hwo those people are. :alienship:

Plus if I flop it, I'll be blocking the street.

I could easily fit 40" under the rig now. Well after I comp cut the rear, maybe tomorrow or later tonight once the other neighbor goes to work. Actually I think I need to go pick up some blades.

Did you think to recess the lights back into the tubing once you cut it instead of capping so they would be protected yet still up front?

I put them inside the fenders under the hood. I thought about recessing them but then they would get filled with mud.

I dont think so. I'll find out Sunday. But where I placed them is way inside of the tire and almost center of the knuckle. SO in theory they should be fine. But really easy to whipe off in needed.
